Faith

The foundation of a joyful life is faith in Jesus Christ. As we develop personal relationships with Him, He can lead us to joy in any situation we find ourselves in. Even in our darkest moments, turning to Christ is an opportunity to choose the joy that only He can provide.

Simplicity

So often, we are tempted to fill up the empty and lonely places in our hearts with “quick fix” solutions, busy schedules, addictions, physical and mental clutter, and other things of little or no value. Those things might make us feel better for a little while, but that relief is superficial. True joy comes from clearing away the distractions and embracing the simple pleasures in life.

Exploration

Dreams don’t come true when we’re scrolling social media. They happen when we’re putting ourselves out there, trying new things and exploring new places. Whether it’s traveling the world, getting back to nature, or learning something new, exploration is a key to unlocking a life of joy and purpose.

Creativity

Thomas S. Monson once said, “[God] leaves the pictures unpainted and the music unsung and the problems unsolved, that man might know the joys and glories of creation.” Whether your creative passions are painting, baking, dancing, or anything else, making space in your daily schedule for creativity is an important step to building a life of joy.

Connection

We are not meant to travel through this life alone. Indeed, The Family: A Proclamation to the World teaches us that “the family is central to the Creator’s plan for the eternal destiny of His children.” Building healthy and meaningful relationships with our families—and by extension, our communities—is an essential component of a joyful life.

Memory Keeping

A joyful life deserves to be documented. Keeping a record of your life through journals, photos, videos, and other memory keeping helps you reflect on past experiences, work through difficult challenges, and express gratitude for the blessings you have received.

Hi! I'm Jess.

I’m a quirky Canadian-American who’s always ready for the next adventure. I always return my shopping carts to the cart corral, I fold gum wrappers into origami cranes, and I polish my nerd badge daily. I am passionate about helping women intentionally make space for the things that bring them true joy.
